Jennifer Magee, a teacher at Northside Elementary, has been selected as a 2025 Herb Kohl Educational Foundation Teacher Fellow. She is one of just 114 educators across Wisconsin to receive this statewide honor, which includes a $6,000 personal grant and a matching $6,000 grant awarded to her school.
Magee was nominated by two former parents and chosen from a highly competitive pool of applicants across the state. The Teacher Fellowship is awarded to educators who demonstrate strong leadership, a passion for teaching, and an ability to inspire a love of learning. The selection process is rigorous, with nominations reviewed by a statewide committee of civic leaders and representatives from education-related organizations.
“The Herb Kohl award is one of the most respected recognitions in Wisconsin education,” said Superintendent Dr. Dana Monogue. “We are proud to have Jennifer represent our district in this year’s class of honorees. It’s a reflection of the outstanding teaching happening in our schools every day.”
Northside Principal Sylla Zarov shared, “Jennifer’s commitment to her students and the greater school community is truly inspiring. She brings energy, heart, and deep professional skill to everything she does. We’re thrilled to see her receive this well-deserved recognition.”
The Herb Kohl Educational Foundation was established by former U.S. Senator and philanthropist Herb Kohl, who believed deeply in the power of education to change lives. Since 1990, the Foundation has awarded more than $40 million to educators, principals, students, and schools across Wisconsin.
Congratulations to Ms. Magee on this well-earned and meaningful recognition!
