Black History Month holds immense significance for me. It serves as a reminder of the strength and resilience of the Black community. I believe it is a powerful platform for education and dialogue, promoting diversity and equality.

Here at Middleton-Cross Plains, we always support initiatives and events that celebrate Black History (year around), fostering inclusivity and honoring contributions.

  • MADISON PUBLIC LIBRARY: Madison Public Library is hosting numerous events – art displays, film discussions, author visits and more – to celebrate of the achievements by African Americans and honor the central role of black Americans throughout history and in the present day.  Learn more.

  • BLACK MEN'S HEALTH & WEALTH SUMMIT:

    On Saturday, Feb. 8, Madison College is hosting  a free community summit focused on empowering Black men and youth through practical workshops on healthcare, financial literacy, business development, and personal growth. Connect with resources, companies, and experts while learning essential strategies for health management and business success. This summit aims to strengthen our community by supporting both aspiring and established entrepreneurs. Learn more.

  • UNIVERSITY OF WISCONSIN-MADISON:

    The University of Wisconsin-Madison community is celebrating Black History Month with an exciting array of events throughout February, including engaging lectures and performances as well as community gatherings and cultural celebrations.
