Chris Mand | Director of Student Services

Welcome to MCPASD Student Services! Our dedicated team includes psychologists, social workers, counselors, nurses, and health assistants, all working together to support our students.

We collaborate closely with teachers, administrators, families, and community agencies to create a supportive environment for student success. Our primary goal is to enhance student learning and help every student develop the skills and knowledge they need to reach their full potential. We do this by increasing access to instruction and reducing barriers to learning.

Our Student Services team offers a range of support, including health services, attendance assistance, connections to community resources, and mental, social, emotional, and behavioral support. If you believe your child could benefit from our services, please don’t hesitate to reach out to their school. We're glad to have you as part of our community!

Our Team

School Counselor(s)

School Counselors are licensed educators with specialized training to support students' academic, career, and social-emotional development.

They work collaboratively with teachers, families, administrators, and community partners to deliver a comprehensive school counseling program that meets the diverse needs of all students. Our counselors are dedicated to ensuring equitable access to support, resources, and services that promote educational success for every learner.

Prevention and intervention are key components of a school counselor's role. They design, implement, and evaluate programs that incorporate leadership, advocacy, collaboration, and systemic change to maximize student achievement. By focusing on these areas, school counselors help prepare students to be ready for college, careers, and active participation in their communities (WI DPI).

Social Worker(s)

School social workers use a variety of evidence-based strategies to help ensure that students are both physically and mentally prepared to learn in the classroom.

By employing a strength-based approach, school social workers view students and their environments as interconnected systems. They work to enhance the functioning and relationships within these systems to support student learning.

School social workers also actively engage with families and community organizations to foster better outcomes for students, such as improved academic performance, increased safety, better attendance, and enhanced social-emotional-behavioral functioning.

Typically, school districts focus their social work services on students who are facing challenges in school due to barriers to learning, whether these challenges stem from within the students themselves or from their surroundings (WI DPI).

Psychologist(s)

School psychologists use their expertise in mental health, learning, and behavior to support the academic, social, behavioral, and emotional success of children and youth.

They collaborate with families, educators, school administrators, and other professionals to foster safe, healthy, and supportive learning environments. By strengthening the connections between home, school, and the community, school psychologists help ensure that every student has the opportunity to thrive (WI DPI).
