During periods of inclement weather, our District is often faced with challenging decisions that require us to make adjustments to the school day. Factors such as snow, sleet, fog, ice, and below-zero temperatures can lead to cancellations or early dismissals. We understand that the decision to close schools can have a significant impact on work schedules and cause inconvenience for parents and their employers. However, the safety and well-being of our students always take precedence over any inconveniences caused by these decisions.
In the event of a school closure, we have implemented a system to ensure that all families are promptly notified by 6:15 a.m. Every family and MCPASD staff member will receive an automated phone call, email, and text message. This will provide students who typically board the bus early in the morning with ample notice to stay home and remain safe.
It is important to note that the phone call will be made from the number 608.829.9000, and the text message will be sent from "98900". Additionally, the email will be sent from the address "no-reply@apptegy.com."
Please note that you may see the term 'sent via thrillshare' in the email address. Thrillshare is the name of our messaging service. Currently, there is no option to remove this function.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in these situations, as the safety of our students is our top priority. To help clear any confusion regarding winter weather protocols, listed below are a few frequently asked questions:
