Sherri Cyra is a 5th generation educator and serves as the Deputy Superintendent in the Middleton-Cross Plains Area School District in Wisconsin, where she previously served as a Director of Curriculum and Instruction and as an Elementary Principal. She has experience as both a fifth-grade teacher and Spanish teacher at the elementary and middle school levels and serves as an Adjunct Professor in the Graduate Studies program at Viterbo University. Sherri holds an undergraduate degree in elementary education with minors in language arts and Spanish from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, and a Masters from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis, where she is currently finishing her PhD. She also serves as a volunteer with the United Way of Dane County and Girl Scouts of Wisconsin-Badgerland Council. When not working or writing her dissertation, Sherri can be found spending time with her husband and teenager, reading, cooking, gardening, or quilting; she especially enjoys designing art quilts.
