A yard sign that read: "MHS Band & Orchestra, Give a Hoot! Buy some Fruit! MHSFruitSale.com"

Thursday, October 29, 2020 - 11:01 am

Would you like to support local music education and enjoy some very fresh fruit this winter? Then the MHS Band and Orchestra Parents Association’s annual fruit sale is for you.

Fruit can be ordered online starting Nov. 1 and running through Nov. 22. Check, credit card or debit card are accepted and there is a flat shipping rate of $6.95 per item.

When you can place your order, you can select the band or orchestra student who will receive credit for your order. If the student you are looking for is not listed, it is because they opted out of being listed so your order will go to support the program.

Orders will not be picked up at MHS this year. All orders will be shipped the week of Dec. 14-18 and guaranteed to be delivered before Dec. 25. All orders will be shipped via FedEx Smartpost to the recipients' homes. The delivery date can't be guaranteed. If no one is home, orders will be stored at the local post office.

This event continues to be a major fundraiser for the MHS band and orchestra programs. The fundraiser supports purchasing new instruments, providing instruments to those without, instruction by specialists, transportation to events, accompanists for competitions, and music camp scholarships. In addition, band and orchestra students earn a portion of their sales and can use that toward offsetting their costs for field trips and other music program activities.

Fourteen options are available, starting at $20. This year's offerings include pink grapefruit, Washington Red Delicious apples, Navel, Hamline or Mandarin oranges, D'Anjou pears, and mixes of multiple items.
