Per our district policy and state law, families have 10 days per school year to excuse their children from school. When your child is sick or has an appointment and misses school, your medical provider can write us a note so that it won’t be counted towards the 10 days of family excused absences. If you have an extenuating circumstance that you believe warrants additional days to be excused from school, you can use this form to request permission from the school principal.
When students are absent from school for 15 or more consecutive days (for reasons such as travel), students will be asked to withdraw from school and then re-enroll upon returning to school.
Please know that our teachers will do their best to support students who miss school including allowing them to make up any tests or assessments. However, teachers will not be expected to re-teach missed lessons.
Fill out one form per child and return to the main office at your child’s school prior to the absence.
