With great pleasure and enthusiasm, I want to introduce myself as the principal of Park Elementary School. I am honored to be a part of this beautiful community with a history of academic success and community partnerships. I have found Park Elementary school to be a student-focused atmosphere and a place where students' social and intellectual development is a community priority. My wife, two daughters, and I are blessed to have the opportunity to join the community, and I am grateful to be serving the Park Elementary community. I was born and raised in Wisconsin. I am also excited to introduce my wife, Samia, and two daughters, Emma and Molly, to this community. My wife and I have decided to return to the state of WI to be closer to our extended family. I enjoy running, hiking, golfing, playing most any sport, and spending time together as a family. I am looking forward to getting to some Packers, Bucks, Brewers, and Badger games!
Professionally, I have been a principal, assistant principal, instructional coach, and teacher in the Laveen School District for the past 15 years. Laveen is located just southwest of downtown Phoenix, AZ. I have been part of many school-wide achievements and awards at my previous school, Trailside Point Performing Arts Academy. These include; being ranked one of the "2022 Best Middle Schools in Arizona" by U.S. News and World Report, receiving multiple "P.B.I.S. Gold Awards" by PBISAz.org, being recognized as an "A+ School of Excellence" by the Arizona Education Foundation and designated a "No Place For Hate School" by the Anti-Defamation League of Arizona. I look forward to using the instructional and organizational leadership skills I have gained over the years to continue Park Elementary School as a school of excellence.
Individually, the Rodel Foundation granted me the "Rodel Aspiring Principals" recognition, the Laveen School District awarded me the "Pinnacle of Leadership" and "Excellence in Education" awards, and I am an annual presenter at the Behavior Education and Technology Conference (BET-C). At this conference, I coordinate a group of P.B.I.S. leaders to present PBISAz Ignite Talks at BET-C. I have served on the PBISAz awards committee to evaluate and select schools for honors and presented awards to the chosen schools at BET-C. Outside of my leadership positions, the PBISAz.org and the KOI Foundation have invited me to present at conferences hosted by Grand Canyon University and Arizona State University.
I plan to continue to bring recognition to the Park Elementary School as a high-quality school through expectations of high academic achievement, a commitment to safety, and community partnerships. I believe that success begins with a meaningful relationship. One of the most important aspects of my work at Park Elementary School will be building positive relationships with students, educators, and families and ensuring academic success for the students I serve. I am committed to ensuring students achieve at high levels, succeed in high school and beyond, and define their success. Please know that I genuinely welcome conversation and seek valuable input. I look forward to serving the Park Elementary School community and celebrating our success during the 2022-2023 school year and beyond.
With sincere gratitude,
Brett Humphrey
Principal
Park Elementary School
