This week, Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers and State Senator Dianne Hesselbein made a special visit to Park Elementary School to meet and honor the beloved celebrity superstar, Rodney “Mr. Peanuts” Esser. Mr. Peanuts, who has dedicated 58 years of his life to public education, has been serving as a custodian at Park Elementary School. He recently won runner-up in the CINTAS Custodian of the Year contest!
During their visit, Governor Evers and Senator Hesselbein took the time to personally thank Mr. Peanuts for his unwavering commitment and dedication to the school and its students. The Governor praised Mr. Peanuts for being a true superhero in the eyes of the community and a shining example of the impact that one person can have on the lives of countless others.
In addition to meeting with Mr. Peanuts, Governor Evers and Senator Hesselbein spent time speaking with students at the school. The students were eager to ask questions and engage in conversation with the visiting officials.
Some of the questions asked by the students included, "What's the hardest part of being governor?" and "Did you vote for Mr. Peanuts?" Governor Evers answered the questions thoughtfully and shared his insights on the challenges and rewards of being in public service. He also expressed his admiration for Mr. Peanuts !
