19 DECA members recently competed at the State Career Development Conference in Lake Geneva.
The students performed role plays that resembled scenarios they would encounter if they worked in business or marketing. They also took a marketing related exam that tested their knowledge on related concepts. Students were also able to compete with projects that they created prior to the competition.
"The students were definitely ready to compete," said Robert Hutchison, chapter advisor. "Based on the results, it was clear that they spent a lot of time preparing. Varsha Gouraram, Aarush Jain, and Shreya Ramesh were named Series Champions in multiple events. It was neat to see them do well in multiple events."
"It was great to be back at the Grand Geneva for an in-person competition," said Hutchison. "While I was glad we were able to have a virtual State last year, it was nice to be competing in person at the State level again."
