DECA

Middleton High School’s Distributive Education Clubs of America, or DECA, team had a strong showing at the State Career Development Conference in Lake Geneva: 30 DECA members competed and 25 qualified for the International Career Development Conference (ICDC) in Orlando, Fla., at the end of April.

At the State Career Development Conference, students performed role plays and took a marketing-related exam to test their knowledge about marketing-related concepts.

"To have 25 out of 30 make it to ICDC just shows how talented these students are," said Bob Hutchison, DECA advisor for Middleton High School. "This will be my largest group of qualifiers going to ICDC. I'm excited to see how they do in Orlando."

Several students double qualified for ICDC, including Middleton High School junior Crystal Huang, who finished first in both of her events.

"Crystal definitely had a great conference," said Hutchison. "I'm really proud of how the students performed. It really is an honor to be the DECA advisor at Middleton High School."

NuhaThe State Career Development Conference also marked the end of Middleton High School senior Nuha Khatri’s term as state president of Wisconsin DECA. She was elected state president for the 2024-25 school year.

"With this being Nuha's last official duties as state president, it was neat to see the chapter do so well. The students definitely gave her a great send off," said Hutchison.
