stock market team

Middleton High School students are working with mentors from 100 Black Men of Madison to compete in the Stock Market Game. It’s a 12-week stock market simulation that teaches students how to invest, supported by Wells Fargo.

Noah Duckett, Wyatt Ehrhardt and Oubedatou Ezoula – all Middleton High School seniors – are representing Middleton High School in a nationwide competition with 144 teams. They’re working with two mentors from 100 Black Men of Madison, including Ernest Allen, who also coaches Track and Field for Middleton High School.

Each team is allotted a virtual $100,000 to invest. Students work with their mentors to learn about investing in the stock market and work together to maximize the return of their portfolios.

Each week, the 144 teams are ranked, and Middleton High School’s team has earned first place for multiple weeks. In Week 5 of the program, Middleton High School’s team has grown its $100,000 investment to just over $110,000.

The competition prepares students for their financial futures and helps them build strong relationships with their mentors. The winning team will travel to New York to ring the bell on the New York Stock Exchange in addition to presenting at a national conference.

Congratulations to Noah, Wyatt and Oubedatou for their repeated first-place showings! We wish them the best of luck in the rest of the competition!
