Middleton High School is buzzing with excitement and pride as the school achieves an extraordinary feat - three state championships in just one week!
Two boys' teams brought home two WIAA State Division 1 Championships in different sports on the same day! The remarkable achievements of the boys soccer and boys volleyball teams have left the entire community in awe and celebration.
Finishing out the week on a strong note, the girls swim and dive teams returned home as state champions as well!
The swim and dive team dominated the state competition, with all three relays earning a spot on the podium including the 200 freestyle relay, which finished 2nd and achieved an All-American time standard!
Other swims that finished on the podium were Tait Haag in the 200 free (3rd) and 500 free (2nd) and Brynn Sundell in the 200 free (6th) and 500 free (5th). Student diver Olivia Davis scored 11 points for the team and placed 8th.
Together, they became the first girls swim team to win the state meet without winning a single event!
The boys soccer team put on a display of incredible talent and determination as they secured their second state title by defeating Brookfield East. The hard-fought victory adds another chapter to the school's rich legacy in athletics. The boys soccer team's achievement is truly commendable and a testament to their dedication and relentless pursuit of excellence.
Meanwhile, the boys volleyball team claimed their first-ever state championship. They outplayed Union Grove, Kimberly, and then Arrowhead in the championship match and showcased their exceptional skills to capture the state title. This milestone is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our players.
