Middleton High School senior, Jahnvi Datta, has been awarded the 2022 Governor’s Financial Literacy Award. This award recognizes individuals who elevate the financial literacy, capability, and financial inclusion of Wisconsin residents. Governor Evers awarded all of the recipients at a ceremony at the Wisconsin State Capitol on April 24th.
Jahnvi created her own program, Know Your Dollar, which provides financial education to middle schoolers, especially those in underserved areas for free. The program partners with many youth organizations in the Madison area and has been impactful in making the approach to financial literacy resonate with our community’s youth. Jahnvi’s mission is to have students leave Know Your Dollar with knowledge surrounding fundamental personal finance concepts but more importantly, with the confidence and curiosity to learn even more in the future.
