Ken Metz

The Middleton-Cross Plains Area School District (MCPASD) is proud to announce that Glacier Creek Middle School Principal Kenneth (Ken) Metz has been selected as the District’s new Director of Secondary Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment, effective July 1, 2025.

Metz has been a cornerstone of the Glacier Creek community for 21 years, beginning his career there as a sixth-grade teacher in 2003. Over the years, he has taken on various leadership roles, including Dean of Students, Assistant Principal, and Principal. His commitment to student success, strong relationships with staff, and passion for innovative learning have made a lasting impact on the school and district.

Before joining MCPASD, Metz started his career as a second-grade teacher in Jefferson City, Missouri. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Iowa State University and a Master of Education Leadership from Cardinal Stritch University. He is a licensed Teacher, Principal, and Director of Instruction, bringing a wealth of expertise to his new district-wide leadership role.

In a message to staff, Metz expressed his appreciation for the Glacier Creek community:

“It has been an incredible honor to serve our school community for the past 21 years, and I am truly grateful for the support, trust, and partnership we have shared.”

While stepping into this new role, Metz reassured the Glacier Creek community that the school is in great hands:

“I will always hold a special place in my heart for Glacier Creek, and I look forward to continuing to work together in this new capacity. I am confident that Glacier remains in good hands with the amazing teachers, paras, support staff, and leadership.”
