The 5th-grade student council at Glacier Creek Middle School is giving back!
The rock star team recently collaborated with the Make-A-Wish Foundation to support a local child named Samuel, who is currently living with acute lymphoblastic leukemia.
Samuel's wish is to meet YouTuber Jaiden Animations.
The 5th-grade team raised an outstanding total of $3,335, which will go towards making Samuel's wish come true!
Here is what a few of the students had to say about the experience:
(Left: Muriel | Right Ellie)
-Muriel: "It makes me feel good to help someone because it makes me feel like you're doing something better in the world than just caring about yourself
-Ellie: "Sometimes kids don't always get as much privilege or get to do the same things we can do, so when you can help them, then they get to have fun times just like us."
(Left: Nora | Middle: Khushi | Right: Emery)
-Khushi: "I think it is important to help out and donate because it not only makes them feel good that someone wants to contribute to helping them, but it also makes you feel good because it makes you feel like you were a part of something and it makes me feel really proud and good."
-Nora: "I had a family member with cancer, so I know what it's like going through that, and it just shows you how much you can do with just a dollar or five dollars to help someone."
-Emery: "This really means a lot to me that this is his wish, and if it gets granted, maybe someday he can be a YouTuber or something higher, and that wish will inspire him to be who he is."
(Left: Harvey | Middle: Griffin | Right: Ben)
-Harvey: " I've always lived by the concept that you should always treat others the way you want to be treated. My mom always taught me that is a great way that life rolls. It also makes me feel good to know that we are contributing and helping someone's life to life better."
-Griffin: "I think it is important because you are donating to a good cause because it can go towards saving someone or helping them get something they want
-Ben: "If I was in their place, I would really like to have a special moment."
-Arnav: " It really feels good to help someone."
Thank you to the Glacier Creek 5th grade student council and all the generous donors for supporting a great cause!
