The 4th-grade classes at Elm Lawn Elementary kicked off the holiday season by opening with a "Day of Gratitude" on November 21st.
Each classroom supported a different local nonprofit. Students spent the day making cards for Battle Cap Project cancer patients, making tie blankets and cat toys for Shelter From the Storm Animal Rescue, and preparing for a food drive to support the Middleton Outreach Ministry.
They followed up with school-wide donation drives for all 3 organizations and had awesome support from the Elm Lawn school community.
A few students joined 4th-grade Teacher Jodi Alt to deliver their donations to the animal shelter over the weekend and get a tour of the facility. Our District is proud of our students and their passion for their community. Way to go!
