When should my child stay home from school?

Your child should stay home if they:
- have tested positive for COVID-19
- show symptoms of COVID-19
- have been identified as a close contact to someone who tested positive for COVID-19
- may have been exposed to COVID-19
- are waiting to get tested, or waiting for COVID-19 test results
Your child should stay home if they ar ill and have symptoms above their normal baseline:

• Congestion or runny nose
• Fever 100.0F or above/chills
• Nausea or vomiting
• Diarrhea
• Headache
• Fatigue
• Muscle or body aches
• Sore throat
|
Any ONE BLUE symptom or TWO RED symptoms in considered “Covid Suspect” and students will need to follow normal MCPASD Illness Guidelines for return to school.
Any ONE RED symptom would follow MCPASD Illness Guidelines and may return to school when symptom resolved and they have been fever-free without fever-reduction medication, vomiting or diarrhea for
at least 24 hours.

Call the District COVID Hotline 608-829-9018 or email covid19@mcpasd.k12.wi.us if your child’s absence is related to a positive COVID test or exposure to someone who has tested positive for COVID.

Report if your child to too ill to attend virtual instruction.

Report ALL symptoms they are having.
All notes from medical providers OR proof of Negative COVID tests must be forwarded to your child’s Health Room before your child’s re-entry into the building.

If your child tests positive for COVID-19 and has attended face-to-face instruction or been on a District campus within two days of when symptoms first started, please contact the District COVID Hotline (608-829-9018) or email us at covid19@mcpasd.k12.wi.us.
