Happy August Wolverine Families,
Please take some time to watch this video message about our return to school at West Middleton. We hope you and your family are doing well during these unprecedented times. Even though there is so much uncertainty in the world, we are all very excited to get this opportunity to reconnect and develop new relationships with our Wolverines and their families. Even with the excitement, we also understand that many families, including many of our own, are concerned and anxious about what this year may bring with the many changes that are happening due to COVID-19. This year presents unique opportunities and challenges for all of us. Our staff is committed to making the best of this situation and ensuring that all students at West Middleton are provided with the most love, support and best education possible.
On August 17th, you will be receiving an email with the name of your child's teacher, as well as information on how to sign up for a Ready, Set Go virtual listening session. This will be a great opportunity for you and your child to virtually meet with their teacher (and possibly some other West Middleton staff) to share all of the amazing things about your child and help us get to know you and your child better. The dates and times of these listening sessions will be Wednesday, August 26th from 12:45-3:45pm and Thursday, August 27th from 3:00-6:00pm. If these times don't work, our staff will be flexible in order to make sure we have the chance to have a one-on-one with every student and family before school starts.
We have also scheduled dates and times for technology and school supply distribution. You will not be asked to purchase school supplies this year. Instead the school will provide students with what they need in order to engage with learning, including things such as Bridges (math) workbooks, whiteboards, books and other hands on materials. If you purchased a school supply kit from the PTO, we will hopefully have them available for pick up during this time (stay tuned for more information). We will share additional information about these dates and most likely have a sign up so that you can secure a specific pick up time (similar to how we coordinated our end of year drop offs/pick ups). In the meantime, please hold the following dates and times on your calendar:
School Supply & Technology Pick Up (these are the correct dates - in the video I said 8/28 but the correct date is 8/26 ):
2nd-4th Grade students and families can come to West Middleton to pick up their device & supplies on Wednesday, August 26th, 11:45am-3:45pm & Thursday, August 27th, 3:00pm-6:00pm. If your 2nd-4th grade student has a sibling in KG or 1st grade, they are also welcome to pick up their device & supplies at these times.
KG-1st Grade students and families can pick up their device & supplies from West Middleton on Tuesday, September 1st, 7:00am-9:00am & Wednesday, September 2nd, 7:00am-9:00am or 4:00pm-6:00pm.
