If we focus on building our knowledge and implementation of Responsive Classroom principles and practices, then we will be able to better support student/adult relationships and build student social emotional learning competencies.
Social Emotional Learning
Staff will learn about universal instruction in social emotional learning.
(ie. PBIS, Responsive Classroom, SEL competencies, Second Step, Zones of Regulation, Trauma Informed Practices)
Staff Engagement and Well-being
If we focus on using existing curriculums and associated standards to develop teacher knowledge and decision making around student data, then we will be able to build collective efficacy and create learning environments where students reach grade level literacy skills.
Staff will build collective capacity around equity based instructional practices.
Data Driven Instruction
Staff will use data-based decision making to inform and adjust differentiated supports for students guided by our district’s MTSS system.
Staff will demonstrate collective responsibility for ensuring student success by building clarity on what students need to know and be able to do, gather student evidence to measure impact and differentiate instruction accordingly.
Family and Community Engagement
If we focus on creating better partnerships with families through better communication and more inclusive collaboration then we will be better able to support students in attaining grade level benchmarks in literacy.
Staff will create meaningful collaboration and partnerships with families about student strengths and identified growth areas.
Staff will implement a consistent newsletter plan within and across grades
Staff will examine current research to create a consistent homework philosophy and practice across grades.
