More than 220 members of the Class of 2019 participated in the District's fourth annual Senior Walk on Friday, May 31.

The seniors were invited to return to the elementary school they attended in the District at 2 p.m. with current elementary students and staff lining the hallways. All six District elementary schools participated in the Senior Walk, communications director Perry Hibner said. Students who didn't attend a District elementary school were invited to attend any of the six elementary schools and participate, Hibner said. St. Francis Xavier in Cross Plains also participated for the fourth consecutive year.

The Class of 2019's graduation ceremony was held on Sunday, June 2 at the Alliant Energy Center in Madison. A video that included pictures and video from every school that participated in the Senior Walk was displayed before the ceremony began.

"This is one of the great events we hold annually,'' said Hibner, whose daughter, Katherine, participated in the inaugural event in 2016 and youngest son, Nathan, participated in 2018. "We weren't the first district to do this but I'm so glad we do now. I think if you asked the graduates they will tell you it is a huge thrill and every bit as exciting as the graduation ceremony.''

a great event,'' said Leeanne Hallquist, a former Board of Education member whose son, Erik, participated this year at Elm Lawn. "I am so glad the District is making this an annual event. ... And I know the elementary students and staff love it, too.''
