Link Crew

What Is Link Crew?

Link Crew is a high school transition program that welcomes freshmen and makes them feel comfortable throughout the first year of their high school experience. Built on the belief that students can help students succeed, this proven transition program trains mentors from the junior and senior classes at MHS to be Link Crew Leaders who guide the freshmen to discover how to be successful during the transition to high school. Link Leaders help facilitate freshman success as they are paired with freshmen advisories, so they can maintain this positive relationship all year long.

What Do Link Leaders Do?

Link Leaders are trained to work with the incoming freshman class and other new students who are entering our school next fall. After extensive training in August, Link Leaders will facilitate freshman orientation on the first day of school in September. At freshman orientation, each Link Leader will be given a small group (Advisory) of freshmen to work with that day and will be asked to help that group during the first week of school with any challenges they may face. During Advisory and the rest of the school year, Link Leaders will meet again with their freshmen to touch base, discuss problems, and plan social activities. Link Leaders will also be required to attend monthly meetings and select special events throughout the year.
