Cooperative Academic Partnership Program (CAPP)

Cooperative Academic Partnership Program (CAPP)

The Cooperative Academic Partnership Program (CAPP) at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh (www.uwosh.edu/capp/) provides academically able high schoolers with a GPA of 2.75 or higher the opportunity to earn college credits while still in high school. Note: All dual credit options are dependent on teacher certification and may change with changes in staffing.

Students who register and successfully complete courses offered through CAPP earn University of Oshkosh credit, verified by an official transcript. MHS does not guarantee that credits will transfer to any other college or university, but UW-Oshkosh has a lot of information on how/whether credits will transfer to various schools on their website.

While there have been several changes to the funding of this dual credit program over the past several years, CAPP courses are currently tuition based and parents are responsible for this tuition. This year, tuition is $110 per college credit and courses range from 1 to 5 college credits.  This remains a substantial tuition reduction from on campus tuition. CAPP tuition is set by the UW-system and is subject to change. Students who qualify for Federal Free/Reduced lunch are eligible for a fee waiver.

Eligibility Requirements

If you are a high school student and meet at least one of the following requirements, you may enroll in CAPP:

  • Class rank in the top 30 percent

  • GPA of 2.75 or above (on a 4.0 scale)

Don't Meet the Minimum Requirements?

If a student is exceptional in a certain area in which they desire to take a CAPP course, but this student does not meet the above criteria, they may be allowed to enroll. Students should contact their instructor for additional information.

Requesting CAPP Transcripts

Requesting CAPP transcripts must be done through UWO, not MHS.

Step 1:  Apply to UW-Oshkosh

  • To apply, please follow the directions on this site.   https://uwosh.edu/capp/students/apply/

  • Fall applications are due July 31st, Spring applications are due December 20th

  • ALL students must complete the application every year they take a CAPP course. You only have to fill out one per academic year – you do not need to apply every semester within the same academic year.

Step 2:  Register for your class in cooperation with your teacher at the start of the semester you are enrolled in the class.

  • Once you receive your NetID from UW-Oshkosh, you will need to register for your specific class that matches the MHS class in the table below.

  • Registration instructions: https://uwosh.edu/capp/students/online-registration/

  • The registration deadline for Fall is September 20th, for Spring February 14th.

  • If your class does not start until next term DO NOT register for it until the start of that class. If your class is year long, you ONLY need to register for that class in the Fall.

Step 3: Make payment on My Payments Plus

The cost is $110/credit and the average class is 3 credits or $330.  CAPP fees will be added to student accounts on My Payment Plus once students are officially enrolled in their class.  Students will be notified when payment is available.

Please note: all classes are subject to teacher availability and may change due to staffing assignments and requirements
