As we settle into the 2024-2025 school year, the MCPASD Education Foundation continues investing in our students and staff by supporting current needs and initiatives within the district. We are grateful for the many recent generous donor contributions, and are reaching out to you to help us continue to uphold these commitments to our schools.
The Education Foundation supports the school district’s efforts to improve student achievement across all demographic groups by focusing on equitable practices – the heart of an inclusive, innovative and inspiring learning community. Each year, we award staff grants and student scholarships, and fund programs that help students in need.
This past year, $26,000 was used to purchase small band instruments for middle school students. We also funded $6,000 in personal hygiene supplies that assisted approximately 100 families throughout the district, with a matching amount contributed through our partnership with WayForward Resources. An additional $20,000 went to the Weekend Food Program to co-fund this program with seven local churches. Weekend Food Program is designed to bring consistency to students throughout the district who battle food insecurity when not in school. The program provided nearly 6,500 weekend bags of food. The need has increased by 20 % and the the cost of each bag has also increased by 300%.
We are asking for your donation to help us sustain these and other valuable programs for our students. Dollars raised will continue to provide teacher inspiration grants, scholarships, support of the arts, and endowment growth to ensure that the MCPASD Education Foundation will continue to support our district for years to come.
