The sixth annual Strikeout Cancer Game involving the MHS and Sun Prairie baseball programs will take place on Thursday, May 16 starting at 5 p.m. in Sun Prairie.

The inaugural game occurred in 2014 and was a joint effort by former MHS baseball coach Tom Schmitt, who retired after last season, and Sun Prairie coach Rob Hamilton. All proceeds from the game to go the American Family Children's Hospital. Over the last five years, the games have raised more than $55,000. This year's event hopes to raise $15,000, MHS baseball coach Brent Jorgensen said.

Hats and T-shirts with a special event logo will be available for purchase for $20 at the game. In addition, various raffles will be going on throughout the game, including a silent auction and 50/50 raffle. All of those proceeds will also go to the American Family Children's Hospital.

This year, MHS will be honoring and supporting current MHS senior Abi Grubba and kindergartner Noah Senger, while Sun Prairie will recognize freshman Cooper Perry and senior Jackson Beihoffer.
