The warm sounds of the Caribbean and South America are coming to Sauk Trail on Friday, Feb. 9 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. as the school hosts Salsa Night.
There will be a live band, salsa dancing, and great food, Sauk Trail music teacher John Becker said.
Sauk Trail’s PTO is putting this event together, along with Becker, who is leading the live band playing music of Cuba, Puerto Rico, Brazil, and Argentina.
Danielle Krbecek, one of our school nurses, and members of the MHS dance team will also demonstrate dance steps at the event, while some of art teacher Bryce St. Peter’s students will have their “salsa”-themed creations on display.
The live band, funded through a District Global Initiative Grant, includes Middleton’s own Laurie Lang Croasdale on bass, Chris Wagoner on violin, Paul Hastil on piano, and Becker on drums and percussion.
“Thanks so much to our awesome PTO for all of their efforts in organizing this event, and to our district for the funding to bring in these wonderful professional musicians to Sauk Trail,” Becker said.
