J.H. Findorff & Son pledged $10,000 to the Middleton-Cross Plains Area School District Education Foundation endowment fund in late May.
Findorff is a Madison construction firm that has worked with the school district on more than a dozen projects over the past 15 years, including a remodel of the MHS STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) area this summer.
It is the third large gift the Education Foundation has received over the past few months.
In late March, HR Imaging pledged to give the Education Foundation $6,000 a year for a minimum of three years and up to five years. HR Imaging is based out of Ottawa, Ill., and handles student photography services for the school district.
In May, the Madison Gas and Electric Company Foundation pledged $10,000 over the next two years.
"We are thrilled about the early commitment to our foundation from these businesses,'' said Courtney Ward-Reichard, the recently elected chair of the Education Foundation's Board of Directors. "They understand the importance of providing educational opportunities to supplement the already strong schools in our community."
The Education Foundation has met with other vendors that work with the school district and expects to have more announcements in the coming weeks, said Perry Hibner, a spokesperson for the foundation.
Besides Ward, the other elected officers for the next year are: Bill Reis (vice chair), Brenda Delabarre (treasurer) and Tom Kobinsky (secretary).
Finally, the foundation's website (inspiringexperiences.org) went live this week. Check it out to learn more about the foundation's programs. There also is a page with biographies on each of the board members.
