The Middleton-Cross Plains Area School District is now accepting applications from individuals interested in serving on the Internal Boundary Committee.
The goal is to select 25 citizen members, who reflect diverse experiences and perspectives from each of the current six elementary attendance areas and from a broad range of the 63 neighborhoods that make up MCPASD, for the committee, Assistant Superintendent Sherri Cyra said.
Applications are due Tuesday, Feb. 19. The Board of Education plans to approve the committee membership at its meeting on Feb. 25.
The committee will meet on the following dates: March 6; April 15 and 29; May 8 and 22; June 5 and 19; July 22; Aug. 5; Sept. 4 and 25; Oct. 9 and 21; and Nov. 6 and 20. Each meeting will run from approximately 6 to 8:30 p.m., and all meetings fall on Mondays and Wednesdays.

A seventh elementary school, adjacent to Pope Farm Conservancy, is scheduled to open in time for the start of the 2020-21 school year. The Board hopes to get options for internal boundaries from the committee before winter break of the 2019-20 school year and approve any boundary changes shortly thereafter.
