Graduation June 6, MHS Breitenbach Stadium

 

We are excited to announce that with the current PHMDC Order, we will be able to host an in-person graduation at Breitenbach Stadium on the MHS campus.  Mark your calendars for June 6th at 2:00 pm for the Class of 2021 Commencement.  More details will follow regarding seat capacity. We will be live streaming the ceremony.

 

GRADUATION PRACTICE

Graduation practice will be held on Friday, June 4th in Breitenbach Stadium at 10:00 am.

GRADUATION ANNOUNCEMENT DISTRIBUTION

If you ordered graduation announcements, they will be distributed during Advisory by your teacher.

 

CAP AND GOWN DISTRIBUTION 

Gown distribution will be on May 11th for cohort 1 and 14th for cohort 2 during ASR from 2:15 until 3:15.  If you are a fully virtual student, you may come either day.  Drive through distribution will be near the Greeters Station in the bus loop and staff parking lot in front of MHS. If you ride the bus or do not have transportation here, we will have a table set up on the sidewalk near the Greeters Station for seniors on foot.

In order to receive your gown on your pick up day you will need to have your order paid in full.  If for any reason this presents a challenge or concern, please contact your counselor.  

If you are unable to pick up the order or have health concerns preventing this pick-up, please make arrangements to have a family member or friend pick up your order.

  

STUDENT SPEAKER AUDITIONS

Two seniors will be awarded the opportunity to speak at graduation.  If you are interested in auditioning to speak on at the ceremony, please send a hard copy and video of you delivering your speech to Deanna Kruger at dkruger@mcpasd.k12.wi.us [2]

Speeches will need follow the following guidelines:
 

• Fall under the theme of “present” or “future”.  Interpret the themes as you wish. 

• Be 3-5 minutes long

• One submission per senior

The deadline for submissions is Monday, April 26th.  The speeches will be reviewed by a small group of judges, composed of Principal Shoemaker; Student Council leaders; and a few speech teachers. Students who are selected to give the speeches will be announced on Friday, May 7th.
 

SCHOLARSHIP NIGHT & ACADEMIC AWARDS 

We will host a virtual ceremony.  Honor cords will be placed with graduation gowns.
