Peg Shoemaker has been named the interim principal at Middleton High School, Assistant Superintendent Sherri Cyra announced last week.

Shoemaker has served the past six years as the principal at Hudson High School. Before that she served as the principal at Willow Ridge Elementary. She also served as a teacher and associate director of learning services has worked for nearly 30 years in Hudson.

Shoemaker replaced Laura Love, who is now MCPASD's director of secondary education, as the principal at Hudson High School.

"Peg’s student and educator-centered leadership, her commitment to equity, and her experience leading a large high school through a major building renovation and learning innovation project were key factors in her selection. This experience as well as her commitment to building trusting relationships are skills that will serve Middleton High School well over the next year," Cyra said.

On June 10, a team of approximately 15 people that included MHS instructional leaders, high school level administrators, and District officials interviewed candidates for the position.

Shoemaker will replace Steve Plank, who served as principal at MHS for five years. He is leaving to become superintendent of the Burlington Area School District.
