The Middleton-Cross Plains Area School District values its strong partnership with the Middleton Public Library. Amy Perry, Outreach Librarian for the Middleton Public Library regularly visits MCPASD 4K classrooms to share special stories, songs, and actvities.
Students at Clubhouse for Kids enjoyed a visit last week from Miss Amy. She shared 3 story books about fall. In addition, the students had a visit with Brown Bear, and sang songs reinforcing early numeracy skills and sign language.
Miss Amy tries to visit many 4K classrooms on a monthly basis. She helps support 4K inquiry studies from Creative Curriculum units, while also reinforcing early literacy and numeracy skills through music, movement, and other activities.
Director of Curriculum, Assessment, & 4K, MaryBeth Paulisse, thinks the partnership with the MIddleton Public Library helps support the students and the teachers in the 4K program. "It's great for the students to interact with the library staff. In addition, our partnership models cross collaboration between the school district and the city library staff."
