The Akropolis Reed Quintet will be performing at the Middleton Performing Arts Center at 7 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 25.
The concert is general admission and the tickets are free.
On Jan. 24 and 25 Akropolis will be working with MHS, Kromrey and Glacier Creek students, who will have an opportunity to work directly with the members of Akropolis in preparation for Solo and Ensemble. Akropolis will inspire students as they share their musical experiences and perspectives about careers in music.
The Akropolis Reed Quintet was founded in 2009 at the University of Michigan and is the first-ever ensemble of its makeup to win a Fischoff Gold Medal (2014), Grand Prize at the Plowman and the MTNA national competitions, and six national chamber music prizes in total. Hailed by Fanfare for its “imagination, infallible musicality, and huge vitality,” Akropolis has performed from Juneau to Abu Dhabi and has won juried showcases at six national conferences.
