Large contingent competes at FPS State Bowl

Seventy-two students students from Glacier Creek, Kromrey and MHS qualified and attended the Future Problem Solvers State Bowl, which was held on April 14-16 at the Green Lake Conference Center in Green Lake.

MHS sophomore Charlotte Sue took first place in the senior division (grades 9-12) problem-solving competition and qualified for the FPS International Conference at Michigan State in East Lansing in June.

MHS sophomores Nicholas Spevacek, Bryson Bauer, Haiwen Dai and Balaji Veeramani finished third in the senior division problem solving team competition.

Glacier Creek sixth-graders Alex Seaborg, Katy Bouril, Abby Gessler & Varun Gupta placed fourth in the junior division (grades 4-6) of the problem-solving competition, while Kromrey students Amelia Mackey, Ava Clark, Lily Baird & Ava Foelker placed fourth in the middle division (grades 7-9) of the problem-solving competition.

Kromrey seventh-grader Nicki Yu placed fourth as an individual.

Meanwhile,  Kromrey eighth-grader Julia Compton captured first place in the Scenario Writing competition.

Future Problem Solving is coached by Ruth Frawley, Amy Galassi and Laurie Genthe.
Frawley offered a pecial thanks to the parent chaperones: Shauna Holahan, Charles and Serena Yu, Kate Hodgman, Laura Kruck, Hebba Gad, Shirin Malekpour, Laurie Goscha, Jean Yosick, Rhonda Gessler, Amy Gangl, Lisa Clark, Jill Bradshaw, Janet Legare, Kimberly Munson and Kevin Anderson.
