Glacier Creek honors military

Seventh-grade students at Glacier Creek participated in a special opportunity last week.

Each student in Block 7W spent time honoring those who have, or are serving, in the military as part of Veteran's Day activities on Friday, Nov. 10. Students were invited to write the names of former, or current, service men and women on a Wall of Veterans located in Ms. Hague's room.

To help students understand the sacrifices that were made, teachers showed a video that included students thanking veterans as well as current military personnel. Following the video, students were invited to honor the individuals they know who have served by adding names to the Wall of Veterans. Students were asked to announce the person's name along with any details they wanted to share such as location of service, years of service, rank and more. Students who wished to add names, but did not wish to do so publicly, came in before or after school to do so.

Parents were invited to talk with their child or children about any veterans, or current service personnel, they may have wanted to honor, Hague said.
