Final orchestra concerts of school year almost here

The MHS Symphony Orchestra will present their annual "Almost Summer" Concert on Thursday, May 28 beginning at 7:30 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center.

The program includes the well-known Beethoven’s Symphony No. 5 with the MHS full symphony orchestra. Also on the program will be Britten’s Simple Symphony, and two movements from String Symphony by MHS orchestra director Steve Kurr.

There will also be the annual senior recognition and a reception following the concert.

The MHS Cardinal Orchestra will join middle school orchestras from Kromrey and Glacier Creek for a spring concert on June 4 at 7 p.m. in the PAC.

The Cardinal Orchestra will perform Pachelbel’s Canon in D, Forest Incantations, A Short Overture by Jean Berger and Bazaar. Eighth-grade students will join the Cardinal Orchestra at the end for a combined number, Breeze Dancing.

Both of these concerts are free and are open to the public.
