All 21st Century eSchool students have the option of checking out a computer and/or printer for the duration of time they are enrolled in the eSchool and can request this at any time during their enrollment. However, most laptop and desktop computers will support online courses so students are welcome to use a personal computer if they prefer. Chromebooks provided by the eSchool can only be accessed using the student's school username and password. Any student wishing to check out a laptop and/or printer must first sign a Technology Loan Agreement indicating they understand useage expectations.
Online courses can be accessed anywhere there is internet access. It is highly recommended that students have a plan that allows them to consistently access internet when enrolling in the eSchool. We do have a limited number of MiFis (personal WiFi devices) that can be checked out to students who are planning to actively work on their online courses but will not have consistent access to internet. Please talk to eSchool staff about availability if you are looking to access this option.
All online courses are accessible through any computer with an internet, there is no specific software required for general access. Students can use Google Drive, Microsoft Office or any other office software to complete coursework as long as they are able to save the document as a .pdf or .doc file before submitting work.
Some courses may recommend students have some additional software (Flash, Java, etc) but the content can be accessed alternative ways if the computer does not support that software.
