The Board of Education has established a Long Range Planning Task Force to study and advise the Board of Education on facility resources and supporting infrastructure.
The committee includes a cross section of our district citizens and staff. Members of the administration serves as a guide to district policies and practices.
The committee will use enrollment projections, information on projected developments, and school district program and schedule changes that would have an impact on the capacity and of district facilities and their supporting infrastructure, as factors in their analysis.
To support this commitment to long-range facilities planning, the Board of Education established the Long Range Planning Task Force to review, study and advise the Board regarding the following:
1. Facility resources and supporting infrastructure.
2. Assessment of existing buildings (including life expectancy).
3. Analysis of educational space use.
4. School safety and security (from a facilities/infrastructure perspective).
5. Development of a District Facilities Plan.
6. Public Awareness and input to the District Facilities Plan.
The task force is charged with making recommendations to the Board on changes, additions or improvements to facilities and supporting infrastructure of the District.
A comprehensive long-range facilities plan should consider a number of factors,
1. Educational program offered and changes impacting District facilities.
2. Adequacy of existing facilities to meet or support program needs and ability to provide a safe learning/working environment.
3. Enrollment projections.
4. Projected development within the District boundaries.
5. Space utilization.
6. Life expectancy and condition of existing facilities.
